Nice wins European rail order
RA'ANANA, Israel--Nice Systems, a global provider of security solutions, has won what it describes as a "7-digit order" for its digital video surveillance solution from a "major" European national rail infrastructure operator.
"This win further substantiates our strategy for offering unique, complete solutions to mass transit system operators and other public authorities," the head of Nice Systems Security Group, Israel Livnat, said in a statement.
The order will expand an existing deployment of Nice Inform, the company's multi-media command and control solution.
Under the terms of the deal, Nice will provide new video surveillance in seven railway stations as part of a national overhaul of security and surveillance infrastructure in the unnamed country.
Already in use, Nice Inform helps operators ensure that all interactions between signal operators and train drivers are captured and stored in compliance with strict corporate policy. Nice's digital video surveillance solution will "allow seven mainline stations across the rail network to better understand the full context and cause of safety and security-related incidents" while providing remote access to images from central command and control facilities.
